The Creative Freedom of Conscience - A Wisdom Retreat

$750.00

True obedience is not at all the subjugation of the will to another will, but rather the moral clairaudience of the will – the faculty of knowing and recognizing the voice of truth. And it is this which renders the soul inaccessible to the lures of the sphere of mirages.

-from Meditations on the Tarot xxii arcana

Through embodied practice and wielding the cosmic laws (Law of Three/Law of Seven) embedded in the symbol of the Enneagram, we will position the work of cooperating with conscience as our most powerful act of freedom - not only for ourselves, but also on behalf of our neighbor, the planet and the sorrow of our Common Mother/Father.

Weaving the work of G.I. Gurdjieff,  J.G. Bennett, Beatrice Bruteau and Cynthia Bourgeault, this Wisdom retreat will harness the great Benedictine monastic setting of St. John’s Abbey and its deep practicing community in support of real group work as we stretch to reach together what none can reach alone.

Through the teaching of Cynthia Bourgeault, along with the writing of Valentin Tomberg, we will see how the traditional monastic vows provide key insight into how to live grounded and practical lives with wisdom and discernment. Ultimately helping us turn toward the great question facing us all: how do we bear unity in times of chaos and transition?

●      We will be working with embodied practices on and with the symbol of the Enneagram

●      We will be working with objective transformed contemplation exercises looking to find an actively receptive frequency in our bodies.

●      The retreat will also include an opportunity to join the monks in the liturgy of hours and honoring of the Great Silence.

Retreat will take place at St. John’s Abbey Guesthouse in Collegeville, MN and begins at 5pm CST on Thursday, February, 6th and ends at 11am on Sunday February 9th.
