  • While I felt some anxiety about my physical capacity to walk 70 miles on the Camino, I was reassured by the excellent organization and planning that was evident before and during this pilgrimage. Throughout our time together, Jonathan was always attentive and supportive when needs arose, but, at the same time, allowed each of us to experience and integrate the pilgrimage in our own way. The practices and reading he gave us prior to departure and the tasks we received each morning helped me to focus on the inner journey that accompanies the outer journey. My experience on this pilgrimage continues to resonate in many ways well beyond our time together in Spain.

  • I have participated in several online groups and retreats facilitated by Jonathan and have been well fed with good spiritual food. His groups and retreats are practice oriented and simultaneously accessible to newcomers to the Wisdom Tradition and deeply nourishing for the more experienced seeker, who of course is just a different kind of beginner. Both online and in person, Jonathan has a presence, depth, and clarity of thought and speech that not only allows for the transmission and teaching of wisdom through him, but also tends to cultivate an intimate and vulnerable group presence that can transform the group itself into a teacher, a collective vessel for transmitting and holding wisdom, a bush that burns, but is not consumed. This dynamic is a rare gift and also, I believe, an essential element for the transformation and growth of human beings.

  • Jonathan’s Camino pilgrimage trip was an incredible experience. I was not sure what to expect prior to the trip, I had never been a fan of organized adventures. However this was an incredible experience. The trip was a great combination of an opportunity to experience the Camino but with individualized guidance. Jonathan was a great catalyst to personal growth. Between some well scheduled guided exercises and time on the trail for individual contemplation (and sharing time with other members of the group) the flow of the trip was fantastic. The logistics of the trip were flawless. Travel, lodging and meals were very well planned and high quality. Jonathan was incredible at managing all the personalities and needs of a diverse group of pilgrims. I would do the trip again without a second thought!

  • If you are thinking of walking the Camino, then you already know your own intentions and what the Camino may offer you in the way of Spiritual or Personal experience. The path pulls you in and holds you. However, if you are not sure in what capacity you would like to journey, may I recommend traveling with Jonathan Steele! My experience was a daily delight despite the long distances of walking each day. Jonathan allowed each day to open up to us as a group and as individuals. He was most helpful in every aspect of the journey from transportation to accommodations, to prayer morning gatherings and sharing and laughter around the evening dinner table. For me his intentionality and presence added an extra level to the pilgrimage or Path. Rather than feeling like a planned tour, he allowed the journey to be one of community and personal Silence. Each of us walked allowing our own evolving presence, capacity, and momentum to manifest. Jonathan’s awareness of pilgrimage and conscious intentionality allowed synchronicity to happen. Jonathan allowed the Path to come to us rather than taking us to the Path. t was a great trip, would do it again in a heartbeat.
